External Affairs Minister Jaishankar held talks with prominent businessmen on Tuesday in Sao Paulo, Brazil. During this, he said that India and Brazil are not only partners but can also share best practices for their mutual development and progress. External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar is on a tour of three major Latin America countries, Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay. During his visit, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has held contacts and meetings for greater engagement with stakeholders in this vast region of Latin America. He emphasized the importance of making Latin America a major trading center for India here. Significantly, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar is on his first official visit to South America with an aim to boost overall bilateral ties.
In Sao Paulo, Brazil, External Affairs Minister Jaishankar held talks with prominent businessmen on Tuesday. During this, he said that India and Brazil are not only partners but can also share best practices for their mutual development and progress.
He also posted on his official Twitter handle about the meeting with businessmen in Sao Paulo. He wrote that "visited the Industry Association of the State of So Paulo, Brazil's largest industry association. India and Brazil are not only partners but can share best practices for their mutual development and progress."
Jaishankar tweeted on Tuesday that the interaction with LIDE, a union of Brazilian entrepreneurs, was fruitful. He further wrote that last year, our collective trade with Latin America was a little less than USD 50 billion. If we get more attention, engagement, connectivity and more meetings like this, I think we can make Latin America a very big trading hub for India as well.
Jaishankar further said that whether it is power transmission, IT, pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, automobiles, two wheelers, today we have good Indian companies in Brazil. Our challenge is to encourage other sectors and companies to come here. Earlier on Monday, Jaishankar concluded his first official visit to Paraguay and held talks with the country's leadership and vowed to strengthen bilateral ties.
